Q: What is a Personal Mastery Trainer?

Q: Why might I need a Personal Mastery Training?

A: You not only might need it, but absolutely require it if you are to live the life that you are potentially capable of. Unless you can look in the mirror and honestly proclaim that you are as fulfilled, happy, and effective as you are possibly capable of, you aren’t yet living the life that you could. Personal Mastery Training is a uniquely effective system for living that life.

Q: How do I choose the Personal Mastery Trainer that is right for me?

A: Contact us and we will arrange for you to speak or meet with an appropriate Trainer who has the personality and background to support you to your greatest possible results. In the end, you are in control of who you choose to work with. Our training is ultimately about you, not us.

Q: How do the PMP Programs work?

A: We have mastery programs that are designed for specific situations and outcomes, based on years of experience and thousands of organizational and individual clients. In our initial assessment phase with you, we will arrive at a mutual understanding of where you are today in a given domain of your life (i.e. business status, relationships, health, organizational effectiveness, etc.), and where you most desire to be in that domain in the future. After that assessment, we will recommend a specific Program designed to help you move from where you are to where you want to be, complete with tools and support to ensure that you will be effective in continued progress throughout the rest of your life or your organization’s future.

Q: How does Personal Mastery Training differ from therapy?

A: Personal Mastery Training is a system designed to support an individual or organization to be able to create incredibly effective and empowered results in their future.

Therapy, however, is a often a process of examination of challenges from an individual’s past that are somehow impacting their ability to cope in the present.

Whenever a Personal Mastery Trainer encounters a situation with a client that is most appropriately dealt with through therapy, that client is appropriately coached to work with a licensed therapist, (as a natural consequence of our commitment to consistently support clients to their best solutions, wherever those solutions may be found).

Q: Our company did a big strategic planning session several years ago.  How is this different? What sort of measurable results occur within an organization with this program?

A: The measurable results include the accomplishment of desired outcomes that move the organization to a clear, compelling and commonly understood vision of the future. The organization’s structure, award system and line of accountability are refocused to support achieving goals that were at one time out of reach.  The skills of leadership, management, and coaching are instilled to increase focus, performance and productivity.

As a result of all of this, a company grows a “culture of commitment” rather than a “culture of compliance or complacency”.

Q: I've tried things like this before, but I always go back to the same old patterns after a while.  What will happen here to prevent that?

A: Both the organizational and personal mastery programs begin with an intense 2-2 ½ day workshop that provides the fundamental concepts of the program.  The difference is that immediately following this workshop, these concepts are applied and continually reinforced over a 3-4 month period through personal coaching.  As these concepts are applied in your practical setting, you will experience your business and personal life begin to transform.

Q: After I complete an individual Program, is there a way for me to continue to be involved in the Personal Mastery Programs?

A: Yes, after you complete the Program, you can continue to be involved by receiving ongoing executive coaching: Level I is 2 sessions per month, or Level II is 4 sessions per month.  You also can apply to become a trainer/coach.  Ask your PMP trainer about the Trainer program.

Q: What are the biggest benefits of going through an LDT?

A: The biggest benefits are:

  • A powerful and useful assessment of who and where you are today - current state;

  • A clear and compelling vision of your desired state and the steps needed to get there;

  • Enhanced skills to focus you to move from where you are today to where you want to be;

  • The capacity to establish project goals and produce desired results.

Q: How can I become a Personal Mastery Program trainer/coach?

A: You become a PMP trainer/coach by first taking the program, then working through your coach and Al Killeen to complete the added training to qualify.  PMP is a proprietary program with some legal requirements.

Q: How does PMP compare to other management training and development activities?

A: PMP emphasizes the importance of values and goals as motivators, and uses the principles of systems engineering and project management to establish a path forward.  Where PMP goes beyond other training and development is that it provides more than concepts.  PMP builds skills by continual reinforcement of performance and application of the PMP concepts to life’s every day challenges.

We operate on the formula the “Concept+Experience=Ownership”. Where most consulting or training programs are good are various presentations of concept, our training goes on to incorporate actual experience of those concepts into your life or job. This is done by Coaching the client through breakthrough projects of their own design, in their chosen domains of life or business, so they can actually experience the concepts in action.

The result is genuine long-term transformation of the individual or organization, not just temporary change.

Q: How is PMP different than other project management principles or programs?

A: PMP goes beyond other project management principles by setting goals that previously seemed out of reach.  PMP also generates the organization’s commitment at an individual-by-individual basis to build team enthusiasm and skills that focus on specific, quantifiable results.  Last,  clearly understood and personally generated goals are aligned with the organization’s structure along with an award system to support achieving these goals.
